BlueLandscape · Email
Send business email from your own address, inside the platform.
Connect your own IMAP/SMTP mailbox to BlueLandscape and send emails straight from the address your clients recognise. Follow up on invoices, answer queries, attach documents — all from inside the platform, all from your own domain.
What are connected mailboxes?
Your own email account, linked to the platform
A connected mailbox is a bring-your-own email account linked to your BlueLandscape workspace. You connect hello@yourbusiness.com using IMAP and SMTP credentials, and the platform sends on your behalf through those credentials.
Why does this matter? Clients trust a familiar address. An email from your own domain gets read — one from a generic platform sender gets ignored.
Setup
Connect in 3 steps
Open Admin → Email
Go to the Email section in your BlueLandscape admin panel and click "Connect mailbox".
Choose your provider
Pick from the preset list (Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail, iCloud, Yahoo) or enter custom IMAP/SMTP settings manually.
Enter your credentials
The platform stores your credentials encrypted and you are ready to send. For Gmail and iCloud, an app-specific password is required — the form flags this automatically.
Capabilities
What you can do with a connected mailbox
Send from your own address
Emails go out from your own domain over your own SMTP credentials. Clients see your address, not the platform's.
Threaded replies
Replies are threaded automatically using In-Reply-To and References headers — conversations stay together.
Read incoming mail
The built-in 3-pane email client lets you browse folders, read messages, and reply — without leaving the platform.
Attach invoices and files
Attach invoices, reports, and uploaded files to outgoing messages. Your admin data and email in one place.
Mailbox types
Personal or shared
Personal mailbox
Visible only to you. Use for firstname@yourdomain.com — only your account can send from it. Other team members cannot see or access your personal mailbox.
Shared mailbox
Available to owner and admin accounts. Use for a support@ or billing@ address the whole team shares — multiple team members can send from the same address.
Security
Credentials stored encrypted and protected at the network edge
Encrypted credential vault
Your email password is encrypted before it is stored — the same vault used for payment secrets. Credentials are never returned in any API response.
Automatic reconnect-required status
If stored credentials cannot be decrypted after a key rotation, the mailbox status flips to "reconnect required" automatically. No sensitive data leaks — you simply reconnect.
Network-level send protection
Before any connection attempt, the SMTP host is resolved and checked. Private, loopback, and cloud-metadata IP addresses are refused before a socket opens — preventing server-side request forgery at the network boundary.
Providers
Preset providers and custom IMAP/SMTP
The connect form ships with presets for the most common providers. Presets autofill the IMAP and SMTP host and port so you only need to supply your address and credentials.

Outlook / M365

Any IMAP + SMTP
Gmail and Microsoft OAuth flows are planned for a future release. Today, all providers connect via standard IMAP/SMTP.
