BlueLandscape · Invoicing · vs Moneybird

BlueLandscape Invoicing vs Moneybird.

Both products do invoicing in the Netherlands. They're for different people. Here's an honest comparison from the team that built BlueLandscape.

Where Moneybird wins

Moneybird is a full bookkeeping platform. If you need bank-feed reconciliation, VAT returns (BTW-aangifte), expense tracking, payroll integrations, multi-currency, recurring subscriptions, debiteurenbeheer, or an open API ecosystem with bookkeepers — Moneybird does all of that. We don't.

If invoicing is one feature inside a bigger bookkeeping flow you need, pick Moneybird.

Where we win

If invoicing is the only thing you need a tool for — and your bookkeeping happens elsewhere (your accountant's portal, your own spreadsheet, or simply a folder of PDFs and UBLs) — BlueLandscape is faster, cheaper, and more pleasant:

  • Speed of drafting. You type a sentence; the invoice exists. Moneybird's flow is forms inside forms; ~6 clicks per line.
  • No subscription. €0.20 per sent invoice instead of €15–25 / month per user. Above ~125 invoices a month Moneybird becomes cheaper; below, we are.
  • UBL/Peppol with every send. Moneybird includes UBL on certain tiers and at certain plans. With us it's always on.
  • Same address book across our tools. Companies and persons are shared across the suite — when we add administration, time-tracking, or expenses next, they read the same client list. Moneybird's bookkeeping clients don't connect to e.g. their (third-party) survey tool.

Migrating from Moneybird

Not yet supported. We'll build an importer when a real customer asks. For now: if you're moving over, the manual one-time export of contacts + a fresh start with new invoice numbering is what most early users do.

Our honest take

If you're a ZZP'er sending 10–30 invoices a month and your accountant handles your bookkeeping, BlueLandscape is the better fit. If you're a growing small business that wants to manage cashflow / VAT / payroll yourself, Moneybird is the better fit.

There's no shame in using both — they're not competing for the same minutes of your day.
